Fat Burning Flip Flops?

I kept seeing these Fit Flops everywhere, even on my own website, and curiosity finally got the best of me.

So I just ordered a pair of these “Fit Flops” to um…er… “product test” for Weight Loss Month. Which is now every month, since 1 in 3 Amercians are obese. I’ll take every fat burning edge I can get, thank you very much!. Plus I like that they have arch support and a bit of a thicker heal. I love to wear flip flops but know from a medical perspective how bad they can be for those with foot, knee, hip, back, and neck problems….so thought I might give them a whirl. If anything they likely provide more structure than the average flat flip flop.

Has anyone tried them yet?

What do you think?

I think if anything it’s an interesting concept.

I think it makes sense that if the foundation you are standing/walking on forces you to work harder to stabilizer core muscles then you would undoubtedly have to work harder thus burn more calories.

Doc, I love how random you are. You cover everything. I’m still laughing. I may have to order them too. They come in brown! lol

I bought my first pair of FitFlops last spring, and though I wasn’t crazy about the ’style’, I was interested in the workout. I just ordered 2 more pair, because I love, love, love wearing them! I notice retaining great energy all through the day when I wear them, due to the fact that I have much less foot/leg fatigue than usual. I’m a very active mom, suffer from some bunion issues, and don’t think I’ve ever had more comfy shoes. I even enjoyed the state fair multiple days last fall, from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. each day ….in my FitFlops! And my feet and legs were not achy and tired, even after those long days.

Last year the color choices were much more limited. This year they are great! I have purchase mine from FootSmart.

    Hi Doc Nicole,

    Thanks.

Interesting article, and I’ll take a closer look, but not sure I’m willing to give up my Birkenstocks, which always give my back just the right amount of support to keep it from causing me pain. They do look a little unstable, but the same could be said of Birkenstocks on uneven ground.

Hey Dr Nicole! :) These are kind of like those Tennis shoes I ran across once that do something similar.. although at 60 bucks, these are way cheaper and prettier to boot! LOL…hmn..Might have to try out a pair myself..thanks for the article! :)
